| Biographical note | Dr. Louis Carroll English was a U.S. Naval Reserve medical officer who served during World War II. Following his service, her served as the Director of Clinical Services and president of the William Allenson White Institute in New York, the director at Rockland County (N.Y.) Mental Health Clinic, as a Fulbright Professor at the University of Baroda, and at the Provincetown Drop-In Center in Massachusetts before retiring to pursue a second career as an artist. |
