Biographical note | George C. Ball, Jr. (1919-) was a captain in the United States Navy and graduate of the United States Naval Academy, 1941. He served in a number of leadership positions including: naval aide to the commander in chief of the Caribbean, commander of Submarine Division 42, Key West, FL, member of the joint staff of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, commanding officer of the Naval Station in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, assistant director and later director of the Naval War College, commander of Submarine Squadron 12, Key West, FL, and deputy chief of staff for the US Southern Command in the Canal Zone, Panama. |
