The collection contains the papers of David M. Armstrong, a U.S. Navy officer and member of the U.S. Naval Academy class of 1941, including his personal correspondence, photographs, citations, reports, action report and war diaries for U.S.S. Zane and U.S.S.Trever, accounts of battles at Pearl Harbor and Guadalcanal, and personal materials. Early correspondence pertains to David M. Armstrong's activities with the Boy Scouts of America, particularly his achievement of Eagle Scout status. Later correspondence includes details about his naval career and personal life. |
