By the Honourable George Thomas, Esq; lieutenant governor and commander in chief of the province of Pennsylvania ... a proclamation : Whereas I have this day received an order of His Majesty in Council ... That the governors of the respective provinces of Maryland and Pennsylvania, for the time being, do not ... permit or suffer any tumults, riots, or other outrageous disorders to be committed on the borders of their respective provinces ... Given at Philadelphia, under my hand and the great seal of the province of Pennsylvania, the twenty ninth day of August 1738.
