Abstract "Systematic theology has become balkanised. Today there are multiple approaches to theology, and each tells a very different story about the shape and function of Christian doctrine. There has been a renewed interest in the writing of systems of doctrine, with a number having been written in the last two decades and more underway or promised. For these reasons, this seems an opportune time to have a study that weighs up different approaches to theology and sketches a way forward for systematic theology. Crisp builds on his previous work in this area in both theological method, historical theology, and Christian doctrine, to diagnose some pressing problems in theology and set out the framework for a constructive approach to the discipline"-- Provided by publisher.
