Abstract "This volume is an edition and translation of Renati Des-Cartes, Ethice. In Methodum et Compendium, Gratiâ Studiosae juventutis, Concinnata (London, 1685)-henceforth referred to as Descartes' Ethics. Descartes never wrote such a book, but its anonymous editor was able to put together a three-part treatise out of Descartes' own words (translated from French into Latin) using his correspondence with Queen Christina of Sweden, Princess Elisabeth of Bohemia, and Pierre Chanut, and the published Latin translation of Passions of the Soul"-- Provided by publisher.
