The sedimentary rock-hosted ore deposits of the Central African Copperbelt (CACB) have been the focus of large-scale mining, exploration and geological research since the beginning of the 20th century. Participants experienced the Kalulushi Core Facility, which stores 110,000m of core, and the Nkana and Nchanga mines. They were familiarized with the geology of the Mingomba deposit, the Kansanshi Cu-Au and Lumwana Cu mines, and the Trident project, comprising the Sentinel Cu and Enterprise Ni mines.;
