| Summary | Annotation This book explores how non-native speakers, especially in postcolonial states, use English to communicate. Focusing on Pakistan, the monograph analyses word categories, phrase and sentence structures used in the region and compares them to British English. It draws extensively from language used in the media and uses Lexical Functional Grammar (LFG) parsers to develop the phrase structures for qualitative analysis and a manual approach to quantify the frequency of various types of phrases.
