Biographical noteThe Greenville (N.C.) Girl Scouts began in 1920. In 1938, a troop under the leadership of Miss Virginia Boerger completed the Foot Traveler Badge. In 1954, the Pitt County Girl Scout Council was chartered. In 1959, the Pitt Council joined the Girl Scout Council of Coastal Carolina.
