Summary Transcription of the diary of sailor Benjamin Bangs, kept in Eastham, Mass. from 1 January 1742 - 31 May 1749 and 16 July 1759 - 4 December 1765. Diary entries from June 1749 - 15 July 1759 have been lost. Entries describe Bangs' experiences as a fisherman, whaler, navigator, and business owner. Descriptions include voyages to various locales such as Cape Cod, North Carolina, and Louisbourg (N.S.) to catch fish and whales and deliver goods.
