He recalls various voyages on privateers and other vessels, capture by numerous other privateers and subsequent imprisonment on prison ships, a journey in 1779 as part of the American naval fleet to the Penobscot River (Me.), an encounter with a British fleet there, and the American fleet's subsequent escape into the settlements of Maine. |
