Summary Papers of Henry K. Loring, a Boston sea captain, contain letters from Loring to Sarah Hichborn of Boston, whom he married in 1833. The letters from his voyages include descriptions of ports in the Mediterranean, the Greek Islands, Constantinople, Newfoundland, Leghorn, and Pisa, Italy, and his affections for Hichborn. Also included are invoices for cargoes shipped from Smyrna, receipts for household furnishings and supplies in Boston (1833), and three letters to Loring regarding the prospects of work at sea and other news.
