Abstract The MT-SEAS is a supplement to the SEMTAP (Special Education Music Therapy Assessment Process). Music therapists who wish to use the MT-SEAS need to have a copy of SEMTAP and be familiar with the assessment process outlined in the SEMTAP handbook. The MT-SEAS is a criterion-referenced assessment tool which expands on and provides a scoring system for the SEMTAP (Special Education Music Therapy Assessment Process). The MT-SEAS is a strength-based model which determines active response to music as it facilitates independence and learning in specific skill areas related to a student's IEP.
