Abstract "In Cultural Psychiatry With Children, Adolescents, and Families, the editors and authors aim to provide history, theory, and evidence-based practice to the various dimensions influencing mental health in children, adolescents, transitional age youth, and families. Knowledge needed to provide culturally competent care includes an understanding of cross-cultural issues that relate to mental health disparities. It also includes pertinent cultural information such as historical trauma that may impact health behaviors. Topics covered in this book include race and ethnicity, mi-croaggressions, intersectionality, social determinants of mental health, and special issues of cul-ture and mental health across the lifespan from infants to college age students. Chapters are de-voted to immigrant and refugee populations, gender and sexuality, religion and spirituality, the influence of digital media and technology, rural psychiatry, adoption and foster care systems, and use of the DSM-5 Cultural Formulation Interview and the Outline for Cultural Formulation"-- Provided by publisher.
