At a meeting of the Committee of Suffrage of the New York Constitutional Convention, held at the Capitol in Albany on Thursday, June 14, 1894, Mr. Francis M. Scott of New York City spoke as follows upon the amendment under consideration by the committee, providing for the elimination of the word "male" from article II, section I, of the Constitution.
