| Summary | Fairy Dust[TM] is a collection of three short stories, one non-fiction essay, and one artist's book on the search for narrative in a chaotic and senseless world. These are stories about what happens to the survivors of Gilligan's Island after the show ends, about cosmically dead-end jobs, and about what happens when someone's city moves out on them; about people who were never actually brothers, and about how one family's dead monster could be another's dearly departed. They share a postmodern awareness of form and medium, but range in tone and genre from comedy to tragedy, from absurdist fiction to prose poetry memoir, and progress from the most fantastic to the most concrete over the course of the collection. Literally. |
