Summary The purpose of this thesis is the examination and assessment of the life of Alice Green Hoffman. Hoffman's papers, located in Joyner Library, East Carolina University, are the primary source of material for this thesis. Frank M. Wooten, Jr., Hoffman's last attorney, also donated his papers to Joyner Library. Wooten's papers include his correspondence with Hoffman and legal documents concerning Hoffman's litigation.
