520 a| Lawyer Reuben Alexander Munday was born on March 2, 1947 in East Orange, New Jersey. His parents were professors at Tuskegee University. Munday attended Wyoming Seminary Preparatory School in Kingston, Pennsylvania where he graduated in 1965. Munday attended Cornell University, earning his B.A. degree in English in 1971. He received his M.P.S. degree in African American Studies in 1974. He enrolled at the University of Michigan Law School, graduating in 1976. In 1977, Munday became an associate with Lewis, White, Clay and Graves, now Lewis and Munday. He was president of the firm from 1994 to 2003. Munday represented municipal corporations in the development of major projects in the city of Detroit. Munday was the first African American general counsel for downtown Detroit development efforts. He was also the first African American granted permission to advise on tax-exempt funds. Munday was a member of 100 Black Men and the NAACP.;
