Abstract Advertising Executive and football player Donald A. Coleman was born January 11, 1952 in Toledo, Ohio. He earned his B.A. degree in journalism from the University of Michigan; and his M.B.A. degree from Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York. Coleman was drafted by the National Football League's New Orleans Saints in 1974. Later he was traded to the New York Jets. After injuries, he left the New York Jets in 1977 and became vice president of Michigan's Campbell-Ewald Advertising. Later, he joined Chicago-based Burrell Advertising where he learned the strategy of target marketing. In 1988, he founded Don Coleman Advertising, Inc. In 2002, Coleman joined with Hispanic agency, Montemayor y Asociados and an Asian agency, Innovasia Communications, to form GlobalHue. Coleman was chairman and CEO. GlobalHue was the largest minority-owned full-service marketing firm in the U. S. Clients included DaimlerChrysler Corporation, Verizon Wireless, American Airlines, and the U.S. Navy.
