Abstract Physician John Clark was born in 1922, in West Virginia. He became a faculty member there as the chairman of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department in 1957. He held the distinction of training more black physicians in obstetrics and gynecology than anyone else in the world. In 1972, Clark wrote "The Weekly Health Column," which addressed health issues of women and children. It was published in several African American publications. After retiring in 1996, Clark worked as a consultant at Howard and at the Food and Drug Administration.
