| Abstract | "On December 4, 1979, Austria enacted a Law on Extradition and Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters (hereafter ARHG) that became effective on July 1, 1980. This legislation represented the first comprehensive statutory treatment of these matters for Austria, and the new law was needed, at least in part, to fill a sorely felt gap in the legal process, since the Austrian Constitution provides that all governmental acts must be based on statutory law"--Introduction, page 1. |
