| Summary | The idea for this primer stemmed from the observation that more than ever before, people in academia and industry are using shallow-reflection seismology as a noninvasiv tool for determining the physical properties and geometry of the upper 100m of the subsurface. Advances in seismic methods have come largely from deep exploration seismology, with a view to maximising profit, but the shallow-seismic techniques are mostly used in the environmental industry with a view to minimise costs. |
