Abstract The Biomechanics of Muscle Contraction features a President's Lecture from the 2010 ACSM annual meeting. The DVD reviews the key factors involved in the mechanisms of contraction. The DVD also details a series of puzzling observations concerning the accepted theories of how muscles contract. In addition, the DVD explores a possible major change in how people look at muscle contraction--whether titin (a calcium-dependent molecular spring) plays a role in muscle contraction.
