The cold and the snow of the harsh Himalayan winter eliminate all communication with the outside world, which has helped to preserve the traditional Ladakhi way of life. It also means that the Ladakhi must work hard during a very short agricultural season to grow all they need for the long winter months. This is the story of a young girl who returns home to her native village at the end of the school term. Her uncle accompanies her on this long, hazardous and spectacular trek. |
