Abstract In present China, high AIDS death toll, rising number of orphans and social discriminations become one of the top concerns in China. In order to remedy the dire situation, the government has started to promote methadone maintenance to control drug abuse. Meanwhile, the authorities keep strengthening hygienic supervision of blood donation to reduce HIV transmission.
