Abstract |
An investigation into what impact the Every Child Matters (ECM) agenda is having on schools, four years on from the release of the Green Paper. By looking at recent research and case studies in schools, we examine whether ECM is managing to have an effect on education outcomes as well as on children's well-being, and what it takes to implement ECM to achieve these effects. We focus on two schools which are implementing their ECM provision in different ways, responding to the common challenge of attending to the needs of all their pupils. Their results have gone up since engaging with ECM, yet despite these successes there are still problems they need to overcome. |
