Abstract Documentary on The Men's Project: The Changing Faces of the Men of American Modern Dance (1997), an evening-long program of six solos commissioned from six male choreographers by Li Chiao-Ping, a Chinese-American female dancer and choreographer. Each choreographer is spotlighted in segments containing rehearsal footage, interviews, and performance excerpts from the completed dance work. Topics addressed include each choreographer's individual approach and working process, the collaborative process between choreographer and dancer, and a discussion of gender roles in dance. Li Chiao-Ping provides a summation of her experience at the end of the program.
