| Summary | Description: Logbooks for HMS Blonde whilst under the command of Lord Byron, and under the command of Edmund Lyons. Whilst commanded by Byron, she undertook an important voyage in 1824 to return to Hawaii the bodies of King Kamehameha II and Queen Kamamalu, who had died while trying to visit King George IV. Byron describes punishments given out to men for insolence. Under Edmund Lyons' command the ship sailed through the Mediterranean, reaching Turkey. |
