| Scope and content | Collection consists of a family Bible owned by the George Sutton family of Durant's Neck, New Hope Township, Perquimans County, North Carolina, including holograph genealogical notes (1739-1827). The original title page and first few pages of the Bible are missing, but the title page for the New Testament is present and it provides the following information: The New Testament of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Newly Translated out of the Original Greek, and with the Former Translations Diligently Compared and Revised (Edinburgh: Printed by Adrian Watkins His Majesty's Printer, 1752). |
