Summary Annotation This seven-volume set contains the proceedings of a June 2001 conference and exhibition on electricity distribution. Each of six volumes discusses a technical theme. Theme 1 (57 papers): network components (cable, equipment, overhead line, and lightning arresters design); electrotechnical materials; maintenance of the network and substation equipment; environmental aspects of substations and switchgear; diagnosis; and innovation). Theme 2 (53 papers): power quality and EMC (safety, voltage dips and interruptions, disturbing loads and phenomena, and PQ monitoring and new technologies). Theme 3 comprises 39 papers on operation, protection, and network control (fault management and outage reduction, maintenance and refurbishment, protection and substation control, and distribution automation and distribution system management). Volume 4 presents 38 papers on dispersed generation--management and utilization of electricity (dispersed generation, energy efficiency, and demand side management). The fifth volume consists of 38 papers on system development (planning issues, methodologies, and tools). Volume 6 (28 papers) addresses new tasks of management, new organizational structures and skills, and business opportunities made possible by technological development. The seventh volume contains special reports and summaries, some of which appear in both English and French; unlike the other six volumes, it lacks a table of contents. There is no indexing.
