Annotation The biennial Digital Review of Asia Pacific is a comprehensive guide to the state-of-practice and trends in ICT for development (ICT4D) in Asia Pacific, carrying 31 updated country reports on the theme of ICT and education.<p>This fourth edition (2009-2010) contains updated reports on key ICT policies, applications and initiatives for development in 31 Asian countries and economies. Chapters on ASEAN, APEC and SAARC, as well as two overview chapters are included. In addition, six thematic chapters cover the important facets of ICT for education, i.e. Millennium Development Goals, distance education, ICT and non-formal education, capacity building, and private-public partnership in ICT for education, knowledge and innovation.</p><p>The chapters were written by a team of authors who are policymakers, practitioners and researchers in a multitude of disciplines in most of developing countries of the Asia-Pacific region in order to provide a broad perspective to the issues covered as well as to reach a global audience.</p> |
