And then at that critical moment when fame, fortune, and stardom were seemingly within her grasp, Ethel Ennis pulled back and opted instead to return home to Baltimore and relative obscurity. At fifty-two, Ennis said that she wants to use her talent to reach the masses with her message of universal love.
