| Abstract | Learn how to plan, organize, and manage a major feature, indy film or TV project. Explore the role of the Producer, Production Manager, and Assistant Director. Examine the procedures, attitudes, techniques and paperwork needed to plan and run a large or small film production. You will scout locations, break down a feature film script, create a production board, shooting schedule, "day-out-of-days", and a budget. Also includes is a CD disc containing the 235 page Workshop manual; John Huston's screenplay "Prizzi's Honor" (starring Jack Nicholson), and Louis L'Amour's "Crossfire Trail" screenplay (starring Tom Selleck), which are the bases of the Workshop. The material covered is applicable to high, medium and low budget features and both corporate and video projects. You will work directly with Tom Kane --Producer/UPM/AD, as you learn from his philosophy, experience and informative anecdotes. |

| Biographical note | Tom Kane has had a long and distinguished career in the film and television industry. As a Producer, Production Manager and Assistant Director, his clients have included Twentieth Century Fox, Miramax Films, Columbia Pictures, United Artists, Warner Bros., ABC Motion Pictures, Turner Network Television, CBS, NBC, ABC-TV and Hallmark Entertainment, among many others. Since 1984, Tom has taught film and television production to hundreds of students from all over the world. He created "The Line Producer, UPM, AD Workshop" for The International Film & Television Workshops in Rockport, Maine, where he taught for 12 years. Tom currently teaches his 3-day film/video production workshop throughout the U.S. and abroad. |
