Abstract For music directors and educators in grades 5 through 12, this resource presents practical, step-by-step procedures for evaluating the achievement of band and orchestra students along with dozens of reproducible assessment forms and charts that are ready for immediate use. Organized into eleven sections, each focusing on a different area of evaluation, the book also offers four appendices to help assess each student's performance in the band and orchsetra, a list of what constitutes errors and what each term means broken down into four levels, and equalization charts to reduce the rating received by an individual participating in a music competition to a report card-type grade.
