| Abstract | Film and television composer George Fenton discusses his musical background and demonstrates the processes involved in composition by first playing a simple tune on the piano, then harmonizing it with the three primary triads. Several variations on the basic tune and harmony are then introduced to illustrate how small changes can evoke different effects and moods. Using synthesizers to alter the timbre and variations of the original tune, changes in mood are further explored. |
