Abstract Debra was like any other child until she was two, when for no apparent reason she stopped talking and started screaming for days on end. Her parents took her to a doctor whose controversial methods had been successful with a number of other autistic children. This program follows the efforts made over a two year period to treat Debra and shows the limited but encouraging improvement in her condition.
