The calculations and astronomical notes on the calendar pages, as well as the preceding eclipse predictions, are identical throughout with those in Carey's Franklin almanack for 1801 (Philadelphia), which names Shoemaker as its calculator. Earlier and subsequent issues of Poulson's state that Shoemaker is the author of their astronomical portions. |
