Charleston, January 7th 1809; and of Masonry, 5809 : Worshipful Sir, and brethren. We the committee of correspondence of Saint John's Lodge, No. 31. Ancient York Masons, do inform you, that our representatives at the meeting of the Grand Lodge of A.Y. Masons, held on the evening of the 17th Dec. 1808, did use their utmost endeavors to prevent the convention of A.Y. and Modern Masons, from being carried into effect.
