General noteOne of at least two variant working copies. In another working version there is a comma following the word "States" in the title, variations occur in the hyphenation of line endings, and the word "accordingly" is misspelled "accordinly" in the fifth paragraph. In the final version (Bristol B6403), ascribed to the press of John Dunlap at Philadelphia, the act is dated "Done by the United States in Congress assembled, this 13th day of October ... one thousand seven hundred and eighty-six ..."
