I have thought fit, with the advice of His Majesty's Council, to ordain ... Thursday the twenty-second day of November instant, be set apart ... as a day of public thanksgiving to Almighty God ... Given under my hand and seal at arms, at Fort-George, in the city of New-York, the first day of November, 1759.
