State of Massachusetts-Bay : In the House of Representatives, September 25, 1780. : Whereas the necessary supplies for the subsistance of our army for the present campaign, are obtained only in the specific articles from the respective states, agreeably to the requisitions and apportionment of Congress ... This Court ... do resolve, that the inhabitants of the several towns and plantations in this state be, and they are hereby required to furnish a number of cattle, or money sufficient to supply the quantity of beef ... in the schedule hereto annexed.
