|
General note | Verse of ninety-eight lines; first line: You English Mattachusians all. Signed: Perciful Lowle [i.e., Percival Lowell]. |
General note | Bristol supplies imprint: [Boston, J. Foster, 1676]. A funeral elegy upon the death of Winthrop's son, Governor John Winthrop of Connecticut (1606-1676) was printed by Foster in 1676 (Bristol B32), and this elegy may have been printed by Foster at the same time. Wegelin supplies the imprint [Cambridge, Samuel Green, 1665], presumably assuming that it appeared upon the death of the author. |
General note | Text in two columns, surrounded by mourning border. |
General note | Wing entry L3307 appears to have been cancelled in error in the second edition, the present title having been confused with Bristol B32, Wing (2nd ed.) F2532. |
