General orders. Poughkeepsie, 25th March, 1782 : His Excellency the governor thinks proper to inform the officers to whom warrants have been issued under the act for raising two regiments for the defence of this state, on bounties of unappropriated lands that by a law passed at the present meeting of the Legislature, the time for completing those regiments, so as to entitle the officers to commissions, is prolonged.
