Reverend sir, having collected from several of the public offices and other repositories of this kind of historical treasure, a considerable quantity of materials tending to illustrate the antiquities of Berkshire, with an intention of setting forth the history of that part of the kingdom; I come now to make application to the living inhabitants of the county for a solution of certain queries which for the most part must depend upon their information only.
