Sir, Tt being proposed to appoint a law agent to the company of undertakers of the grand canal, I beg leave to submit to your consideration my pretensions to that employment. In the year 1765 I was directed to compleat the purchases of the ground intended for the canal, from the city Bason to Ballyfarmott, which were effected by me accordingly: since that time I have been employed as law agent in every matter respecting said canal, and have contributed object; as therefore i have been hitherto engaged in this department, if you should think that I have conducted myself with propriety, and there should appear no cause of removal, I request your suffrage to continue me in an office, the duty of which I shall endeavour to discharge to the utmost of my abilities.
