| General note | "At a meeting or merchants and others ... at Boston, on the 17th day of August, to take into consideration a communication from the Chamber of Commerce at Philadelphia, on the tariff recommended to Congress at its last session ... the following persons were chosen a committee to adopt such measures in relation to the subject, as they should deem expedient. ... At the general meeting ... on the 2d of October, the following report ... was accepted, and the resolutions accompanying it adopted unanimously; and it was ordered that they be printed and a copy sent to every member of Congress from this state."--p.
