Allen) with omission of the preface, and appendix, and Jefferson's "Life of Capt. Lewis." Thomas Rees, the English editor, supplies a new preface, which also includes President Jefferson's Message of Feb. 19, 1806, and an extract of the Fort Mandan letter April "17th" [i.e. 7th] 1805, from Capt.
