General noteThe second part was first published as a document in 1843 under title "A report of an exploration of the country lying between the Missouri River and the Rocky Mountains". In 1845 it was reprinted by Congress in "Report of the exploring expeditions to the Rocky Mountains in the year 1842, and to Oregon and North California in the year 1843-'44. By Brevet Capt. J.C. Fremont". There have been many abridged unofficial reprints of the latter documents, under different titles.
