Abstract |
Study examines the cost and potential defensive capability of the proposed European Ground-Based Midcourse Defense system. Also explores alternative ways to provide some or all of the intended capabilities of that system. Alternatives considered include deploying sea-based interceptors around Europe or mobile land-based interceptors at existing U.S. bases in Europe. In addition, defensive capability that would be available if no dedicated missile defenses were fielded in Europe is examined. |
