| Summary | The purpose of this study is to document the herpetofauna within the Rio Upano Valley. Fifteen genera and twenty species of snakes, five genera and seven species of lizards, eleven genera and twenty-five species of frogs, one genus and one species of salamander, and one genus and one species of caecilian from the Upano Valley of eastern Ecuador are discussed. Extensions of geographic and altitudinal ranges are cited. Infraspecific and infrasubspecific variations are noted. Populational variation for certain populations is also noted. |
